Music for Contemporary Dance and Ballet

Cory’s #1 artistic passion is creating music for, and collaborating with, dance companies and choreographers. Whether commissioned to compose and record an original new work, or remixing and producing his original music for use in dance productions, his approach is the same: blending modern sound textures, strong rhythm, melody and theatricality to create a dynamic foundation for choreographers and dancers.

The Casket Girls

The Casket Girls, a Modern Gothic Vampire Ballet, premiered Halloween weekend, 2009. It was performed by the Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre, with choreography and costume design by Gregory Hancock. Cory wrote and produced the original score, and collaborated with Gregory on the story & production.

Museum Piece

Museum Piece premiered in 2010 at the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, outside of NYC.

The concept centers around a museum tour group – and the daydreams and reverie of one particuarly curious and creative student. She imagines (or does she?) that several works of art come to life, first in a quiet and tepid fashion – but later – much more dynamically!
