The ballet score
that became
a rock record.

I came into this to score a contemporary dance production of Anthony & Cleopatra. What came out sounded different from anything I'd written for dance before — louder, looser, more like a band than a soundtrack. Loud guitars. Real drums. A queen who isn't asking for permission.

I let it.

So what you're listening to is the score for the production — and the most alt-rock record I've made since my band days. The dance shaped the music. The music shaped itself in return. Somewhere in the middle of those two things, this version of Cleopatra showed up.
